’83: DP receives flak for her ‘sexist’ tweet

Deepika Padukone impressed one and all with her first look as Kapil Dev’s wife Romi Dev from upcoming film, ‘’83’. While she garnered immense praise from all quarters for her stunning makeover, her caption on the picture has received flak from the netizens. Taking to her social media handles, Deepika shared her first look picture as Romi Dev from the movie where she is seen striking a pose alongside Ranveer Singh who will be playing the role of Kapil Dev. She captioned the post as, ‘To be able to play a small part in a film that captures one of the most iconic moments in sporting history has been an absolute honour. I’ve seen very closely the role a wife plays in the success of her husband’s professional and personal aspirations in my mother and 83 for me in many ways is an ode to every woman who puts her husband’s dream before her own…#thisis83.’
