‘Panga’ BO day 3: Kangana starrer excels

Kangana Ranaut, who is known for delivering stellar performances on the silver screen collaborated with ace filmmaker Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari for ‘Panga’. The film which revolves around the life of a Kabaddi player started on a low note but seems to have picked up as it went on to collect Rs 5.50 crore on Sunday.
Panga Movie Review : An exhilarating ode to motherhood and chasing dreams!
According to the latest Box Office India report, the sports drama has gone on to collect a total of Rs 11.75 crore from its first weekend at the box office. The film which opened at Rs 2 crore has seen a good rise in its collection but still, the film’s overall performance is poor as compared to others.
While Remo D’Souza‘s dance drama ‘Street Dancer 3D’ is off to a flying start, Ajay Devgn‘s period drama is creating history with its remarkable run in the domestic circuit while Kangana’s ‘Panga’ is facing the heat. While the critics have hailed the film, it has failed to allure the audience to the theatres.
The Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari directorial also stars Jassie Gill, Richa Chadha and Neena Gupta in pivotal roles apart from Kangana. Meanwhile, the plot of the film revolves around a middle-class Indian woman who decides to make a comeback into the kabaddi team and how she tackles her domestic responsibilities as a mother and wife while trying to pursue her comeback.
In an exclusive interview with ETimes, Ashwiny, who collaborated with Kangana for the first time was all praise for her. Terming Kangana as the perfect fit for the role of a female James Bond, she said, “Of course, it has to be Kangana Ranaut. Because James Bond keeps finding the truth of everything and she keeps doing the same thing so yes, it has to be Kangana who would be the perfect choice to play the female James Bond.”
