Following the footsteps of Prabhas, Dear Comrade actor Vijay Deverakonda is ready to be the next pan-India star. The actor, who shot to fame with Arjun Reddy, is gearing up for his next big project with filmmaker Puri Jagannadh. Vijay recently visited Mumbai to begin his film, Fighter, on an auspicious note. Vijay’s Bollywood debut was on cards for a while now and we will finally see him speaking Hindi in his multilingual film Fighter. The project is being presented by none other than the head honcho of Dharma Productions, Karan Johar. On the other hand, Puri Jagannadh is directing as well as producing this film. Yesterday, Karan Johar shared pictures from the muhurat shot of Fighter on Twitter. “Thrilled to be a partner on this journey, best of luck to our entire team!” he tweeted.
According to Mumbai Mirror, Vijay underwent a hard-core training and followed a strict diet to prepare for his character. The actor also visited Thailand to learn mixed martial arts and various other fight forms. In the film, Deverakonda will be seen flaunting six-pack abs. Apart from Vijay, Fighter will also feature Ronit Roy and Baahubali star Ramya Krishnan in key roles. Sharing a bit about the film, Ronit informed leading daily, “It is a pan-India action film that will feature a lot of mixed martial arts and will be shot extensively in the next six months.”

Talking about his Bollywood debut, Vijay had earlier told Film Companion, “Doing Hindi (films) is interesting but I want to do something that is Telugu and Hindi. Something that works back home and here. I can’t see myself shifting here at an apartment as my friends are back home. I love the laid back, lazy lifestyle. I can’t work with 5 guys every day photographing me. It serves the purpose, but I don’t think I would like it every day and I think Mumbai is too fast for me.”
